I Wish We First Tried to Understand What Was Meant Dear friends, my future colleagues, and fellow citizens who are sensitive to this matter, Since yesterday, regarding my statements on the mixed marriage problem and citizenship rights in the Republic of Cyprus, I have been subjected to not only constructive criticism but also a great deal of public shaming from the northern part of the island. One of these comments came from a person whose legal knowledge and commitment to truth I deeply respect, and it was this that made me feel the need to write this comprehensive clarification.
